Tasting:

Opened one hour before drinking. Opaque, inky dark garnet mixed with brown and purple color and the same color rim. Aromas of plum, cherry, forest floor, freshly cut Bald Cypress (Taxodium distichum) wood and “Autumn Sunset” rose blossoms. Polished, approachable, full body and a 200-grit texture. Exuberant plum, current, cherry, blackberry and chocolate flavors; fresh acidity, noteworthy suave leathery tannins and a very long finish that ended with a licorice aftertaste. WOW, WOW, WOW this was a wine with RUNAWAY INTENSITY!!! The complex layers of flavors were concentrated, clear and luxurious. Silky smooth, rich identifiable flavors and wonderfully balanced, but with tannins that had just the right grip to wrap it all together and give it structure. Simply a STELLAR super Tuscan and a ROBUST wine that was like a 90-pound ballerina on tip-toes!!!
