Tasting:

He said: Opened and decanted for 30-minutes. Opaque, inky dark garnet color with a light purple rim. Wispy dark fruit and leather aromas. POWERFUL full body mouth-feel; intense, dusty, bone dry, cherry taste that has tobacco and tar flavors all the way through to the end. This was no shrinking violet…but it became more delicious with every sip. Great acidity, mouth puckering dry, soft tannins and gobs of juicy dark fruit. A delicious bold red blend that’s a GREAT buy.

She said: Opaque, dark ruby red color with lots of evenly spaced rapidly moving lakes. The first sniff had a lot of alcohol, but the subsequent aroma was mild and fruity flavors swelled over the palate like a giant wave stimulating the taste buds and tickling the sides of the tongue with acidity. The mouth-feel was smooth, dry, full-bodied and luscious. The tannins were well structured and the finish long, but just a tiny bit bitter. The wine was excellent with the dinner, but I’ll bet would sing with grilled lamb and I look for forward to another chance to have that perfect pairing.
