Chilled before opening. Clear, rich oat straw color with a tint of polished gold. Rich vanilla aroma with whiffs of honeysuckle. Smooth, creamy and a little off dry mouthfeel, solid medium body and a 200-grit texture. Strong vanilla and citrus flavors with lesser amounts of green apples and honey. Crisp acidity and a fairly long tart apple and citrus finish that leaves a butterscotch taste in the mouth. WOW…a classic California oaked Chardonnay. It sort of reminded us of Columbia Crest Chardonnay (but, not as good). It was not a memorable wine and the sweetness really distracted from the core Chardonnay taste. However, it’s clearly dominated by oak and fruit tastes and if you like that it’s a good drinkable wine. We called it an OK Chardonnay that was a good value at only $9.99.
