Tasting:
-
Opened one hour before drinking. Clear, ruby color with the same color rim. Aromas of: cherry, cranberry, licorice, damp basement, dry bales of hay and whiffs of smoke. Rustic, vibrant and a tad off-dry mouthfeel, light to medium body and an 80-grit texture. Quite fruity with ripe cherry, cranberry, pomegranate, chocolate and brown sugar flavors. A huge amount of bright acidity, light slightly grippy tannins and a complex fruity and lightly tannic finish. A fruity wine that changes at mid-palate to a more savory and tart combination that has real appeal. We called it an interesting wine that had lots of charisma.
