I absolutely loved this wine when we first tasted it at a Caviste wine pairing dinner at Nobles Grill and had it with lamb…but I think it was even better paired with the steak and rub…a delicious meal with a memorable wine…it just doesn’t get any better than this!!!
She said: What do you do when your New Year’s Eve plans are cancelled? Plan a great dinner with a fabulous wine and that is exactly what we did. The wine was exceptional from the first sniff through the long finish. Starting with the first sniff I enjoyed the rich red fruit aromas underlined by a whiff of sweaty horse that became more prominent in the taste. Medium bodied and medium dry, the wine retained its flavors into a long lasting finish. Tannins were light, soft and well balanced. I would have chosen a more robust wine for a steak dinner but this was so good with the dinner I bow to Rays choice. Absolutely a delicious wine, but way out of the bargain range.
Comments: 1Misty’s Restaurant in Lincoln, Nebraska serves great steaks flavored with their own rub. I used one of the free samples I picked up last Fall on the grilled Filet Mignon we had with this wine. It is a superb grilled meat rub!!!
