RED BLENDS
2002 Vintage - BLIND TASTED in March 2006 Relentless
|
Hervé Pennequin Named after the relentless work and effort from Elias Fernandez to produce the best wines at Shafer. This is a blend of Syrah (80%) and Petite Sirah (20%) located south of the Stags Leap district. 100% new French oak for 30 months bring to the wine a dark, intense purple color. The nose expresses aromas of Vanilla with cinnamon, black pepper and black cherry, plum in the finish. The taste is juicy with a delicate approach. The tannins are intense, very noble and the complex flavors tend to go towards violet flower, licorice and plum with finish on leather. This 2002 is the fourth vintage produced.
