SAUVIGNON BLANC
2004 Vintage - BLIND TASTED in March 2006 Sauvignon Blanc
|
Hervé Pennequin First vintage where 7% of Semillon from Calistoga was added to the Sauvignon Blanc from part in Oakville and RutherAÂford to bring smoothness and creaminess. The wine spent 7 months in 80% oak (only 3% new) during which the lees were stirred daily. The wine resulted in having a bright, yellow green color with golden hues. The aromas are delicate, elegant and develop hints of fresh mint, pine flavors, light apricot and lemony character at evolution. The palate shows a great balance between acidity, smooth and the body. The flavors are more towards exotic fruits of passion fruit, peachy and pineapple. A long finish all in elegance marks this beautiful food-friendly Sauvignon Blanc. This 2004 is the first to be commercialized in screw cap. 1400 cs.
