CABERNET SAUVIGNON
2003 Vintage - BLIND TASTED in March 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon
|
Hervé Pennequin With all five Bordeaux varietals from selected low-yielding clones adapted to each one of them in the cuvée (79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petit Verdot, 6% Malbec and 5% Merlot), the wine empathizes the intention to belong to the top red wines of Napa. 80% new French oak were used to age the wine for about 20 months. The tasting shows a wine with such a rich, intense red purple color with a deep core. The extracted aromas of green mint, leather with juicy black fruits of plum, kirsch are very persistent and announce a high marked wine. The palate confirms the intensity of the nose for a wine with massive tannins but silky, racy, round. The fresh acidity added to a full-bodied structure and an above average level of alcohol brings lusciousness. The wine is overall an excellent technical wine without complex and has all potential for aging.
Andreas Larsson Clear, very dark, opaque color, the nose is rich and smoky with hints of dark blackberries, blueberAÂries, tobacco and licorice. The palate is very concentrated with dark fruits and massive tannins, powerful and long aftertaste. A real blockbuster.
