RED BLENDS
2002 Vintage - BLIND TASTED in March 2006 Opus One

Hervé Pennequin A bright ruby color characterizes this last release of Opus One with purple hues. The vintage was marked by an intended low yield production, probably the lowest of a decade concentrating in flavors and color. The intensity of the aromas is exceptional, extracted notes of black fruits of plum, cassis bark, and raspberry with smooth spices of vanilla with smokiness. The violet flower aromas come along in the finish to bring some elegance to this huge bold flavored wine. The palate expresses finesse with silky tannins. A great length and extraction confirm the raciness of this vintage. The tannins and acidity are on line and add in the structure a profound density.
Andreas Larsson Dark ruby red color, very elegant nose with hints of roasted coffee, oak, dark cherries, tobacco and mineral. The palate is elegant with polished tannins, fresh acidity, dark fruits and a long and elegant aftertaste. Very good and stylish.
