CABERNET SAUVIGNON
2002 Vintage - BLIND TASTED in March 2006 Branding Iron Vineyard - Oakville
|
Hervé Pennequin This vineyard of 4 acres lies on the western Oakville close to the base of the Mayacamas Mountains. The particular vertical trellised system allows a perfect sunshine position and a long, slow ripening, intensifying the polyphenolic components in the skin. The wine has a deep intense black / reddish color. The aromas are earthy and show extracted black fruits of blueberry, cherry with licorice and rose leaves tones in the evolution. The attack on the palate is smooth, delicate. The tannins are racy, very noble with a lot of silkiness while the crisp acidity brings balance. The aromas are found again in the flavors with a small spiciness in the finish.
Andreas Larsson The color is clear, medium deep ruby red. The nose is somewhat closed with red
fruits, red currants and red cherries, herbs and tea. The palate is tight & dry with well integrated tannins, minerals and a medium long finish. An elegant style.
