RED BLENDS
1998 Vintage - BLIND TASTED in March 2006 Harlan Estate

Hervé Pennequin The intensity of the wine is so high, deep red ruby color. The aromas of eucalyptus, sweet green peas and forest floor are extracted and present a great complexity to the black fruit, ripe with touch of licorice and a floral note in the final of violet. The palate is dense, with coffee bean and cacao characters. The tannins are firm and very settle with a nice touch of acidity that sustains the flavors of black fruits as kirsch, plum. The final is showing eucalyptus flavors also and last quite long, the vintage was difficult with mildew at harvest and Harlan kept only half of the regular production for 0.7 tons per acre - total of 650 cases produced that year.
Andreas Larsson a deep and dense ruby red color, a very nice nose with hints of cigar box, roasted coffee, cassis and minerals, approaching maturity. The palate is very dense and concentrated with dark fruit, big yet integrated tannins, a fresh acidity and a very long, elegant aftertaste. Stylish!
