CABERNET SAUVIGNON
1998 Vintage - BLIND TASTED in March 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon
|
Hervé Pennequin This was a very hot vintage around 46 degrees Fahrenheit during the month of August and the production was down to half of a regular one. This was a very hard harvest during which the talent of the winemaker will impart a lot in the final result. This wine has a ruby color of medium intensity with a light evolution on the rims. The nose is characterized by earthiness with spices, cinnamon and grey pepper along with cacao in the finish. The mouth is medium bodied with flavors of plum, dried cherry and finishes on a firm bitterness and almost aggressive acidity (due to the vintage).
Andreas Larsson Medium deep ruby red color, the nose is a little bit shy with hints of red plums and some herbaceous notes. The palate is light bodied with soft tannins, red fruit and a medium long aftertaste. Light & pleasant to drink today.
