RED BLENDS
2003 Vintage - BLIND TASTED in March 2006 IX estate
|
Hervé Pennequin The 2003 'IX estate' is a blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon with 31% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. With a profound red ruby color and almost black purple hues along with a high viscosity, the aromas express a smooth, delicate with intense black fruits of blueberry, plum, spices of cloves and fresh tobacco. The extraction on the palate brings lusciousness. The tannins are very racy, intense and noble while the acidity brings a good balance and lightens all components. The wood tannins are very well integrated with a long finish on flavors of meatiness.
Andreas Larsson the color is viscous with a deep and saturated purplish nuance. A generous nose with plenty of young and dark fruits, cherries, tobacco and chocolate. The palate is really full and meaty with integrated tannins, long and dense aftertaste. Very young but highly enjoyable after a few minutes in the glass.
