Isabel Mijares

 
    Isabel Mijares is the kind of lady about whom you need to ask -well what hasn’t she done yet?  When reading Isabel Mijares’ curriculum one gets the impression of – Wow! And this is still not all.


Isabel has been active in the wine business ever since the early 70’s, when she became the technical director of Bodega Palacio de Arganza in Villafrancia del Bierzo. After earning a degree in Chemistry and Physics from Madrid University, Isabel graduated from the Oenology Institute of the University of Bordeaux. Ever since, she is one of the persons who mainly influenced the history of the modern Spanish Wine world.


She is and has been the President of numerous associations and councils in Spain and abroad. She is a wine consultant, oenologist, editor, and has been active in nearly all fields of the wine business. Isabel is one of the most prominent wine personalities and she is surely one of those who did a lot for Spain and the Spanish Wines.


To make it short, Isabel, who today publishes a newspaper on wine, leads the company Equipo TEAM, works as a consultant for the San Rafael region in Argentina, coordinates and leads the development of the Campsa guidebook, founded the L.A.S, and is a Jury member in various international Contests – is the Spanish Wine Icon!
